Chaturyuga refers to a cycle of four yugas. The four yugas refer to cosmic ages that are used in the Vedic sanatan system for measuring universal time. The names of those four ages are – Satya Yuga, Treta Yuga, Dwapara Yuga and Kali Yuga. The four main principles of Dharma are: Truth (Satya), Cleanliness (Swachata), Kindness (Daya) and Forgiveness (Kshama). These four principles have been referred as four pillars or legs of Dharma in various scriptures (e.g. Srimad Bhagwat Puran). During Satya Yuga all four pillars of Dharma were intact in the society and therefore everyone lived a happy life…
There were five saints – Achyutānanda Dasa, Sisu Ananta Dasa, Jasobanta Dasa, Jagannātha Dasa, and Balarāma Dasa – who shaped Vaiṣṇava philosophy, spiritualism and literature of Odisha. These five saints (also known as Pancha-sakha or five friends) wrote Bhavishya Malika. These Panchasakha (five friends) of Lord Vishnu take birth on the earth every time in the cycle of four yugas (eras), i.e. Satya, Treta, Dwapara, and Kaliyuga. At the end of each Yuga, the Panchasakhas assist Lord Vishnu in the work of establishing righteousness or Dharma. After finishing Yuga Karma (respective deeds for which God incarnates), Lord Vishnu does Pratyavartana…
According to the four era (chaturyuga) cycle, the first era is – Satyayuga, the second one is Tretayuga, the third one is- Dwaparayuga and finally the fourth Kaliyuga arrives. At present, the entire time period of Kali Yuga has ended, and transition time (Yuga Sandhya) is going on. The transition time between the end of any era and the beginning of a new era is called ‘Yuga Sandhya’ or ‘Sangam Yuga’. The total timespan of Kali Yuga is considered to be 4,32,000 years on the basis of Manusmriti (Laws of Manu). Due to the evil sinful deeds done by human…
