In Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta, Lord Shri Krishna has said to Arjun -

yada yada hi Dharmasya ग्लानिर्भावती India. Abhyutthanamdharmasya तादत्मनां श्रिजाम्यहम् ॥4-7॥ Paritrāṇāya sadhuṇām vinashāya cha duṣkṛtam. Dharmasthapanaarthay Sambhavami Yuge Yuge ॥4-8॥.”

Meaning:- In the above verse it is clearly stated that I appear, I come, Whenever there is a loss of religion, I come every now and then, Whenever unrighteousness increases, I come., I come to protect the gentlemen, I come to destroy the wicked, I come to establish religion and take birth in human form from age to age.

Goswami Tulsidas ji has also said in his book Ramcharit Manas that-

"WHEN-WHEN hoi Dharam 's HANI  , Bardhahin Asura Inferior arrogant

Then and then Prabhu Dhari Vividh Sarira, Harhin Dayanidhi Sajjan Pira"

Meaning:-

In these lines Goswami Tulsidas ji has said that whenever there is loss of religion, Asura, Iniquity of evil people, atrocities, misconduct increases, Every now and then, Lord Vishnu, blessed by grace, assumes different bodies i.e. incarnations. By killing demons, sages and saints save humans and gods.

In this way Lord Vishnu has taken different incarnations in different eras. Among them, Lord Narayana in Satyayuga 5 (Five) had incarnated such as – Matsya Avatar, Kachhapa/Kurma Avatar, Varaha/Shukar Avatar, Narasimha avatar and Vamana avatar. Similarly, Lord Narayana had taken two incarnations in Treta Yuga., Like Ram Avatar and Parashuram/Bhrigupati Avatar. Then in Dwapara Yuga, Lord Narayana took two incarnations such as – Krishna Avatar and Haldhar/Balram Avatar.

Lord Narayana will take a total of three incarnations in this Kaliyuga., It is said so. But two of them have been described in this Dashavatara. Poet Jaidev Ji Maharaj ‘Geet Govind’ Description about Dashavatar is found in many texts like Bhagwat Shastra etc. Brief details about those Dashavatars are described below:-

1-Matsya Avatar:-

Maharishi Vedvyas Ji Maharaj writes about the fish incarnation of God in Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran:-

“Asidatitakalpante brahmo naimittiko layah. Samudroplutastra Loka Bhuradiyo Nrip.

Mukhto Nissrtaan Vedan Hayagrivointikeharat.

Dadhar Shafrirupam Lord Haririshwarah।।

Hatvasuram Hayagrivam Vedan  Pratyaharaddhaarih..”

 - Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran-Matsyavatar Katha-Ashtam Skandh- Chaturvinshodhyayah

Shri Jaidev Ji Maharaj writes about Matsya Avatar in his song Govind that:-

"Prolay Payodhi Jale Dhritvanasi Vedam, Vihit Vahitra Charitramkhedam.

Keshav Dhrit Pisces Body Jai Jagdish Hare."

Meaning:-

The meaning of the above two verses is that what the Lord had done by appearing in the Matsya incarnation. Lord Vishnu had saved mankind from devastating cataclysm through Manu's boat. It was through him that Lord Vishnu established the religion.

A demon Hayagriva had stolen the Vedas and hid himself in the waters of the deep ocean. Lord Vishnu took Matsya avatar and fought a fierce battle with Hayagriva to kill him., And after saving the Vedas, he returned them to Lord Brahma. The seven sages were also saved by Lord Vishnu in the Matsya incarnation.

2-Kachhapa/Kurma Avatar:- In Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran, Maharishi Vedvyas Ji Maharaj wrote about Kachhapa Avatar that:-

Kamathakriterbhagavatah shwasanilaah pantu vaah.

Jatayatmatandritam Jalanidhernadyapi Vishramyati.

  -Srimad Bhagavatpuranam/Skand: 12/Chapter: 13

That is - Lord Vishnu in Kurma i.e. tortoise incarnation placed himself at the bottom of the ocean of milk and made his back the base or axis of the Mandarachal mountain to churn the ocean.

When the gods were in danger of losing their authority to the demons, Then Lord Vishnu advised him to churn the ocean., so that they can attain nectar, which will make them strong and immortal. To get the help of the demons in the churning of the ocean, the gods entered into an agreement with the demons and together they churned the ocean to obtain all the things.

Then Jaidev Ji Maharaj has written about Kachhapa Avatar in his song Govind that:-

Kshitirati vipul tare tav tishtati pages.Dharanidharakin Chakra Garishthe.

Keshav Dhrit, Turtle form, Jai Jagdish Hare.

That is - This means that, When there was darkness on earth, Then to bring light, Lord Vishnu took the tortoise incarnation and lifted the earth on its surface and placed it on the orbital path of the Sun.

3-Varaha Avatar:- In Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran, Maharishi Vedvyas Ji Maharaj has written about Varaha.  Wrote about Avatar that:-

Tamalnil.Sitdantkotya

Pragya Bandhajalayon Dhanuvakai- Rbiranchi Mukhya Uptasthurisham.

Poet Jaidev Ji Maharaj writes about Varaha Avatar in his book Geet Govind that: –

Vashti Dashan Shikhare Dharani Tava Lagna. Shashini Kalank Kalev Nimagna.

Keshav Dhrit, Pig form, Jai Jagdish Hare.

That is - A demon named Hiranyaksha had dragged the earth to the bottom of the sea. then to protect the earth, Lord Vishnu killed the boar (Varaha) and after thousands of years of war, He saved the earth by killing the demon Hiranyaksha.

4-Narasimha Avatar:- In Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran, Maharishi Vedvyas ji has said about Narasimha incarnation that-

Chandrashugarishchuritam Tadvaruhairvishvarabhujadikshatam Nakhayudham.

Dvaryavar Aapatya Dadar Leelya Nakhairyathahin Garuda Mahavisham.

       – Bhagwat Purana -Skandha 7-Chapter 8: Verse 29

Poet Jaidev ji also writes about Narasimha incarnation in his song Govind. –

Then do Kamalvare Nakhamadbhutasringam, Dalit Hiranyakashipu Tanu Bhringam.

Keshav Dhrit, Narhari form, Jai Jagdish Hare

The meaning of the above lines is that in this incarnation Lord Vishnu in the form of half man and half lion (lion) gave birth to his devotee Prahlad as his father (Demon King- Hiranyakashipu). Hiranyakashipu was blessed with a boon that his death should be such that he would not be killed by any human or animal., no air, In water or sea, Neither at home nor outside, Not in the day, Not at night, Neither be killed by weapons nor scriptures nor by anyone. After receiving this boon, he considered himself immortal.

Lord Narasimha came out of a pillar, And made Hiranyakashipu sit in his lap, And at the entrance of the door, God tore open his stomach with his long nails.

5-Vamana Avatar:- In Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran, Maharishi Vedvyas Ji Maharaj has said that –

Yat Tad Bapurbhat Bibhushanayudhairbykatchid Bykatmadharayandhari.

   – Shrimad Bhagwat Purana-Ashtamah Skandah Ashtadashodhyayah Shloka 12

Metal Kamandalujalan Tadurukramatsya, Padabnejan sacredly Narendra.

Lokatrayam Bhagwato Bishdev Kirti.

 – Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran/Skand 08/Chapter 21

Poet Jaidev ji has also written in his song Govind giving the same proof that –

Chhalaasi Vikramane Valimadbhutvaman, Padankhanirjanit Jan Pavan,

Keshav Dhrit, dwarf form, Jai Jagdish Hare

Both the above ideas imply that this incarnation (aA is depicted as a dwarf holding a kamandalu of water in one hand and an umbrella in the other) was taken to reclaim Indra's kingdom.

King Bali: Was the great grandson of Hiranyakashipu. On the strength of his penance he had established his supremacy in all three worlds. When his prestige started outweighing Indra, Indra sought help from Lord Vishnu to establish his supremacy.

Lord Vishnu disguised himself as a dwarf (converted) and asked King Bali to grant him a piece of land three steps, On which he can meditate. When Bali accepted his request, Lord Vishnu using his supernatural powers, In the first two stages captured the earth and heaven and deprived Bali of his kingdom.

But King Bali showed his generosity and asked the Lord to place his third foot on his head. Lord Vishnu was pleased to see Bali's generosity and made King Bali the ruler of the underworld.

6-Parshuram Avatar:-   In Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran, Maharishi Vedvyas ji has said that –

Avataare Shodashme Pasyan Brahmadruhannripana.

Upgiyamancharitah Sindagandharvacharanai.

And Bhrigushu Vishwatma Lord Haririshwarah.

Poet Jaidev ji writes in his book Geet Govind that –

Kshatriyarudhiramaye Jagadapagatapapam,

Keshav Dhrit, Bhrigupati form, Jai Jagdish Hare.

The ideas given in both the verses mean that Lord Vishnu had incarnated as Parashurama/Bhrigupati in Treta Yuga. Parashurama (his appearance is described with an ax in his right hand) is the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. At the time of this incarnation, Mahaprabhu Parashuram had pacified Mother Earth with the blood of Kshatriyas. It is said that he became angry at the death of his father. 21 Once the Kshatriyas were made inferior to the Kshatriyas from the earth.

7-Ram Avatar :- Maharishi Vedvyas ji has written in Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran that –

Tatah Prajagmuah Prasham Marudgana, Dishah Prasehurvimal Nabhondhdhabhavat.

Sthira Prabhashchapyabhavat Divakarah.

   – Ramayanam/Yuddhakandam/Sarga: 111

Similarly, what is written about Ram incarnation in Adhyatma Ramayana, those lines are quoted below –

And praise be to God.

Pitamah Puroganstan Sarvalokanamaskritah.

Saputrapautram Samatyam Samantigyatibandhavam.

Hatva Kuranduradharshan Devarshinam Bhayabaham.

Dashavarsha Shahasrani Dashavarsha Shatani Ch.

Vatsyami Manushe Loke Palayan Prithivimimam.

Ravanen Hritman Sthanamaskakan Tejasa Saha,

Poet Jaidev ji has also written in his song Govind while giving place to Ram incarnation that–

Keshav Dhrit, Raghupati Roop, Jai Jagdish Hare.

In the verses written above it is told that Lord Rama is the seventh incarnation of Vishnu. In this incarnation Lord Rama is shown with a bow and arrow. He freed his wife Sita from bondage by killing Ravana. This was the main task of establishing religion in Treta Yuga.

He was helped in this task by Lakshman (one of his younger brothers) and Hanuman (monkey god).  .  This story is described in the great epic Ramayana. Shri Ram's life moral excellence, And it is a great example of the stability of marriage. He was the best king of the world. Perhaps no one was better than him in caring for his people. He was a strong and brave warrior. The wicked asuras trembled at the mere mention of his name. His ideal conduct was such that his kingdom was considered an ideal kingdom on earth. That's why till today we are ideal to the state ‘Ram Rajya’ says.

8-Balram/Haldhar Avatar:-   In Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran, Maharishi Vedvyas Ji Maharaj has written about Balram Avatar that –

Nijan Bakyamnaadritya Mabha Ratyapagaan Balan.

Neshye twan langlagren shatdha kaam charinim.

And Nirbhatsita Bhita Yamuna Yadunandanam

Uvacha chakita vachan patita padayornrip.

  – Srimad Bhagavatpuranam/Skandha: 10/Uttaradha/Chapter: 65

Then poet Jaidev Ji Maharaj has described about Haldhar incarnation in his book Geet Govind that –

Halhatibhiti milit yamunabham.

Keshav Dhrit, Haldhar Roop, Jai Jagdish Hare.

The meaning of the above lines is that in Dwapar Yuga, when Lord Balram ji was in Leela on the banks of Yamuna with his Gopi Gopal and when they all went to take bath in Yamuna river., then  Yamuna River, In your arrogance, He was not allowed to take bath. at that time, Lord Balram ji changed the direction of Yamuna river by tearing the soil with his plow and broke their pride.

9-Buddha Avatar :-  In Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran, Maharishi Vedvyas Ji Maharaj writes about Buddha incarnation that-

Tatah Kalai Samprabritte Sammohay Suradiksham.

Buddho Namnajanasutah Keinkateshu Bhavishyati.

  – Bhagwat Skandha 1 Chapter 6 Verses 19-29

Further, poet Jaidev Ji Maharaj has written about Buddha incarnation in his book Geet Govind that –

Sadayahriday Darhit Pashughatam.

Keshav Dhrit, buddha body, Jai Jagdish Hare.

In these lines it has been explained about Lord Buddha that he is the ninth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. in Kaliyuga, To captivate the deities., As Ajan's son in Keenkat city of Orissa, He was born (which is said to be born in Nepal without necessary proof). According to modern belief, Gautam Buddha is the incarnation of Buddha. A few years before the end of Kaliyuga, he took incarnation and established religion by removing the practice of animal sacrifice in Yagya.

  10-Kalki Avatar :-

In Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran, Maharishi Vedvyas Ji Maharaj writes about Kalki Avatar that:-

Athsai Yugasandhyayan Dasyuprayeshu Rajasu,

Badairvi Mohayati Yajnakritorndhdarhan, Shudraan Kalau Kshitibhujo Nyahanishyadante.

  – Shri Maddabhagavatam-First Skandah-Third Chapter Verse-25

Poet Jaidev Ji Maharaj has written about Kalki incarnation in his book Geet Govind that –

Mlechchhanibah nidhane kalyasi karvalam, Comet Miv Kimpi Karalam.

Keshav Dhrit, Kalki body, Jai Jagdish Hare.

Out of the entire Dashavatar assumed by Lord Vishnu, only this Kalki avatar remains. In this Kaliyuga, Lord Kalki will take a fierce form like a comet. holding a big sword in hand, Rogues riding on horses, Sinners, Tyrants, Abusers, Will destroy the Mlechchas and establish religion on earth for Satyayuga.

Mainly the above Dashavatar has been described everywhere. What do you get from reading this, There is a description about this in Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran that-

Shrinvatam Swakatham Krishna Purnashravankirtanah. Hridyantastho Hyabpraani Sudutasataam.

Janma Guhya Bhagavato Ya Etat Prayato Narah. Evening morning devotion devotion sorrow gramad bimukhate.

  – Shrimad Bhagavatam First Canto: Dwitiodhyayah Verse-17

What is the benefit of reading and listening to this Dashavatara, Shri Jaidev ji also writes about this in this way:-

Sri Jayadeva Kaveridamudit Mudaram. Shrinu Sukhadam Shubhadam Bhava Saram.

Keshav Dhrit, decimal form, Jai Jagdish Hare.

That is - Reciting Dashavatar Stotra of Lord Vishnu is auspicious and soothing. By reading or listening to this, one gets the blessings of God and gets salvation from the ocean of life. Shri Jaidev ji, At the end of Dashavatar Stotra written in his book Geet Govind writes that:-

Vedanuddharate jaganti he geograhaate mudbibhrate Daityam darayate balin chalayate kshatrakshayam kurvate.

Paulastyam Jayate Halam Kalyate Karunyamatanvate Mlechchhanmurchchayate Dashakritkrite Krishnay Tubhyam Namah.

Hey, Shri Krishna! You took the form of a fish and saved the Vedas which were drowned in the ocean of destruction., At the time of churning of the ocean, he became Mahakurma and carried the earth's sphere on his back., In the form of Mahavaraha, he saved the earth submerged in Karanarnava., Hiranyakashipu in the form of Narasimha disintegrated demons etc., King Bali disguised as Vamana, Destroyed the Kshatriya caste in the form of Parashurama, Sri Ram as Mahabali conquered Ravana, Sri Balarama holding the plow as a weapon, Lord Buddha extended compassion and Kalki made the Mlechchas unconscious. In this way, I worship at the feet of Mahaprabhu Shri Krishna who appeared in the form of Dashavatar.

The great man Achyutananda ji, the author of the book Bhavishya Malika, writes in his book Ashtagujjari that-

Bhava Vinodiya Thakur Bhakt Vatsal Hari,

Bhakta Nk Pai Kalevar Das Murti Dhari.

That is - Lord Vishnu The devotee is affectionate, Lord of expressions, Devotees understand the feelings of the people. In every era, devotees take ten incarnations only for the welfare of the people.

"Jai Jagannath"
